Creative Embellishments August challenge
July 31, 2016
It's the first of the month, so that means it's time for a new challenge at Creative Embellishments. They have a challenge each month. Creative Embellishment sells great chipboard pieces, along with stamps stencils and wood veneer pieces. If you haven't checked out their online store, you are really missing out. They have great shipping times and excellent customer service.
On to my project that I created for the August monthly challenge. You must use 1 element from the photo and then add the twist. The twist for August was to use circle. Here is the inspiration piece:
Here is my take on the challenge:
I was inspired by the overall theme of summer fun. I also went with the blue and yellow in the photo.
The photo is of my niece in the pool at my sisters house. I thought this photo screams summer fun. I used the happy word set for the title. It just got a simple coat of embossing powder. Under the photo I used lace border 3. I used aged gold embossing powder on it. Over my photo I used out-of-this-world-frame. I used a combo of the aged gold and blue embossing powder on it. I love the balance of colors on this layout. The yellow and blues pop, but they don't overwhelm.
Here are a couple of close ups.
Stop by the blog and check out the other DT members projects and try your hand at the challenge. I hope you play along with us this month.
Thanks for stopping by. Check back later this month for more of my Creative Embellishment projects.
