Father and Son Love with International Scrapbook Garden

Hey everyone, today I'm sharing my last layout I created it using the April Toolshed kit:Colorburst from The International Scrapbook Garden. This kit is filled with papers from 7 Dots and 49 &Market. I have had an amazing time designing with these kits, but due circumstances I must step down from the team. So today I leave you with a very special layout.

Here is my layout:

Father and son

This is such a special layout. It is one of the last photos my dad and brother took together brother took together before dad died a few months later. Even though dad was so thin, you can still see how much they look alike.

I used items from the main kit, the mediums kit, the bonus paper kit and the embellishment kit. I pulled in a few things from my stash to add as well.

Here are some close up:

I used lots of the chipboard on this layout. I took the pebble panel and cut it into pieces. I layered it around the layout. Because I had used the other black pieces of chipboard I wanted to keep these pieces black as well. So I gave all the naked chipboard a coat of black gesso, the I went over it with black distress ink.

Here is more of that great chipboard. I love the clock and gear corner piece. It was a bonus that they were black. Yes, I snuck in a flower.

Here you can see that great clock/gear corner piece. I didn't have to do much to the background as the paper was already distressed.

It has been a pleasure designing for International Scrapbook Garden. I will miss these masculine kits. They have truly pushed me beyond my comfort level. Thanks so much Tracie for the opportunity.

That's all I have for today, thanks for stopping by.

Love Him with international Scrapbook Garden

Hey everyone, today I'm sharing my first layout for April. I created it using the Toolshed kit:Colorburst from The International Scrapbook Garden. This kit is filled with papers from 7 Dots and 49 &Market.

Here is my layout:

Love Him

Again, I used an older black and white photo of dh. Another one I took a few years ago, from a different photo shoot with me.

This kit is has lots of different embellishments to use.  I used items from the main kit, the bonus paper kit, the embellishment kit as well as the bonus chipboard kit. I pulled in a couple things from my stash to add as well. I added lots of texture to this layout.

Here are some close up:

There is a whole package of ephemera in the kit. I used it to layer all over my layout. I love the tag and the saying.  That frame behind the photo is a die cut from 49 & Market.

There are great stamps and stencils to create tons of texture included in the kit. I used the stencil and some black gesso to create the barbed wire texture. Then I took the stamp (which included splots and tea stain rings) and some black in to add some random stamping.  Once it done, I had an amazing textured background.

The kit has this wonderful 7 Gypsies tile tin in it. It was perfect behind my photo, however the package had smaller images of the tile on it. I cut out 2 of those and used them as layers behind my picture. I even managed to sneak a few small flowers in on this layout.

Untitled with International Scrapbook Garden

Hey everyone, today I'm sharing another layout for March. I created it using the Toolshed kit: Colorburst from The International Scrapbook Garden. We just revealed the March/April kit. It is filled with the Paint Chips paper line from 7 Dots and lots of other goodies. A fun colorful masculine kit

Here is my layout:

Untitled March

Let me start off by saying, if you haven't noticed I rarely put titles on my layouts. Sometimes I find it difficult to really describe what is going on in my photos (especially the ones of my dh). So for this layout I chose one of the two-tone sheets of paper for my background. I think it was the best fit for my photo.

I used items from the main kit, the bonus embellishment kit, the bonus chipboard kit as well as the mixed media kit. I pulled in a couple of things from my stash to add as well.

Here are some close up:

Untitled crop 1

I used the stencil from the bonus embellishment kit for my background. I love the different size squares, very rugged. After it dried, I used the Lindy's mist and magicals from the mixed media kit for color. I finished it off some black splatters with ink from my stash.

  Untitled crop 2

I used black embossing powder on all the chippies. I think it gives a nice contrast to all the color going on. The tags are from the main kit. I added the black one from card stock, just wanted to tie in some more black.

Untitled crop 3

I added some stenciling, chipboard, flowers and splatters to the opposite side of my layout to balance it out. It just kinda tied it all together.

Today I am sharing my first layout created with the Toolshed kit from International Scrapbook Garden. I don't have my new kit yet, so this layout was created from the previous Summer Concert kit. This kit is the masculine kit. It is filled with wonderful grungy papers from 7 Dots and 13 Arts. Plus tons of chipboard.

So here is my first layout:

IMG_4026

I used lots of the chipboard and layered it all over, I left it natural. I loved the frame with the "You Rock" on it. It was perfect for this photo of my nephew. Those washi tape chippies are amazing. I could use tons more  of those.

I layered a few pieces of paper and tags behind the photo. I also added some Tim Holtz film strip tape to match the paper. The flowers are from my stash, some old petaloo. I added some chicken wire stamping and called it done.

Here are some close ups:

I am so excited to be working with this kit. It really pushes my creativity. I love making layouts with lots of flowers and girly colors, so working with a masculine kit will be fun.

Don't forget to stop by the International Scrapbook Blog on Saturday, the new kits will be revealed. You will love them.

That's all I have for today. Thanks for stopping by.

7 Dots Challenge

Hey everyone, just wanted to share a layout I created for the 7 Dots Jun-July challenge.

7 Dots Challenge

Here is the layout I created for it:

I used papers from the Cold Country line. I absolutely love this paper. I dis lots of stamping and stenciling to my background. I used Prima (Precious stone) and Shimmerz (rock-a-fella blue) mist for my splats. My chipboard is a mix of Dusty Attic and Creative Embellishment. Both pieces were embossed with Lindy's embossing powder. I used Queen Sheba Silver and Silver Moon Sapphire.
