Forever with International Scrapbook Garden

Hey everyone, I'm back today to share another layout created using this months Toolshed kit: Winter Adventures from The International Scrapbook Garden. This kit is filled with the Denim and Friends paper line from Maja Designs. It's great for masculine or winter pages, but again I decide to make a feminine layout with it.

Here is my layout:

Forever

This kit is filled with a lot of fun embellishments. The mixed media kit compliments everything so well. I used items from the main kit as well as the bonus embellishment. I pulled in a few things from my stash to make it a bit more girly.

Here are some close up:

Forever crop 1

I used a stencil and some modeling paste both from my stash for the background. Then a bit of stamping with the brown ink from the main kit. I've been into paper tearing a lot lately. To soften it up a bit I added the lace around it.

  Forever crop 2

There are fun chipboard pieces in the main kit as well as the chipboard bonus kit. The chipboard heart is a perfect for girly layouts. To color I used some blue embossing powder from my stash. I added the swirl chipboard piece from my stash to draw your eye to the photo. I embossed it with white embossing powder.

Forever crop 3

The flowers are from the bonus embellishment kit. I dug out some paper clay pieces I made with Prima molds from my stash to tuck into the flower clusters.

Showing more of the fun chipboard, the title is from the main kit. These little words and hearts are so adorable.

Here are the kits I used for this layout:

There are fun chipboard pieces in the main kit as well as the chipboard bonus kit. The chipboard hearts were perfect for girly layout. To color I used some aged marine embossing powder from my stash.

The flowers are from the bonus embellishment kit. I dug that cute little butterfly from my stash. It's so old, but it came in handy.

Showing more of the fun chipboard. This is that title frame from the main kit. I just cut the words out. Then I used the aged teal and marine embossing powder on it. The little swirl chipboard pieces are from  my stash. It's actually 1 piece that I cut into several little pieces. That's a great way to get the most out of your embellishments

Choose to Shine with International Scrapbook Garden

Hey everyone, I'm back today to share another layout created using the January toolshed kit: Winter Adventures from The International Scrapbook Garden. This kit is filled with the Denim and Friends paper line from Maja Designs. It's great for masculine or winter pages.

Here is my layout:

This kit is filled with a lot of fun embellishments. The mixed media kit compliments everything so well. I used items from the main kit as well as the bonus embellishment and mixed media kits.

Here are some close up:

IMG_4047

I used the Lindy's spray from the mixed media kit  for the background. I also used some gold mist from Prima and some white ink, both from my stash.

IMG_4048

There are fun chipboard pieces in the main kit as well as the chipboard bonus kit. The chipboard pocket pieces are everything. To color mine and give it the distresses look, I just ran the chalk ink (in the main kit) lightly over the chipboard to get the desired color.

That star is real denim and was included in the kit. I just kinda stuffed it in the pocket. The button (also in the main kit) was added to make it look like a real pocket.

IMG_4049

I also did a bit of masking to the background using the stencil in the main kit. Also showing more of the fun chipboard. I just used some navy blue embossing powder on it. The dry wall tape is from my stash. I just colored it using the same chalk ink from the kit.

Here are the kits I used for this layout: ToolshedWinterAdventuresKit

Collect Beautiful Memories with International Scrapbook Garden

Hey everyone I here to share a layout I created with the newest Toolshed kit: Winter Adventures from The International Scrapbook Garden.

This months kit is full of papers from Maja Designs, Denim and Friends. I have to say this is one amazing kit. Even though I am a pink and flowers girl deep in my soul, this kit sings to me even though it is a masculine kit. Maybe later I will show you how to create a feminine layout with it.

So for my first layout with this kit, I decide to do the mood board challenge. You guys did know that we have a monthly mood board challenge? If not, here is a link to the post with the details mood board challenge.

Here is the mood board:

Jan2018MoodBoard

Enough chit chat, here is my take on the challenge:

IMG_4036

I followed the sketch (had to flip the photo) and then went with the winter theme.

Here are some close ups:

IMG_4037

We got some snow paste in the mixed media kit, I used that to top of the chipboard pieces after I embossed them with some snowflake embossing powder.

IMG_4038

Those little wood circles are in the kit and are great fillers in flower clusters.

IMG_4040

I used the snow paste with the snowflake stencil in the kit randomly on the background along with the Lindy's mist. I ran the blue ink along the edges of the title.

IMG_4042t

Because there was just a little pink in my photo and I wanted to tie in a little pink, I added a small piece of a die cut doily. The flair wasn't the right color, so I did a little wash of water and blue glimmer glam.

Here is a list of supplies I used for this layout:

Toolshed Main Kit

Toolshed Bonus papers

Toolshed Embellishment Bonus

Toolshed Bonus Chipboard

Toolshed Mixed Media

From my stash, I used the bling, the snowflake embossing powder, doily die cut and the cheesecloth.

That's all I have for today, thanks for stopping by.

"Untitled" Prince Layout

I'm back with another layout created with the Summer Concert Toolshed kit from International Scrapbook Garden. This is the masculine kit, but it had these beautiful yellow papers in it from 13 Arts. So how do you create a masculine layout with yellow paper? Well let me show you what I did.

Here is my layout:

IMG_4023

I incorporated black and grey with the yellow. The chipboard add on had these wonderful chipboard instruments and this guitar was perfect for this photo of Prince. Let's talk about this photo, how perfect was it with the yellow guitar? Oh how I loved Prince.

I colored the music symbol with black archival ink. I left the guitar naked. Like I said I layered torn strips of grey and black paper to break up some of the yellow.

The flowers are from my stash, just some more older petaloo. me grey I'm having a hard time not adding flowers, lol. I used a die cut for the leaves. I also had a guitar pick a friend gave me, talk about the perfect embellishment.

The kit also came with a music note stamp. I did some random background stamping with some grey archival ink. They I added some mini art stones and black splatters.

Here are some close ups:

That's all I have for today. Thanks for stopping by.

Today I am sharing my first layout created with the Toolshed kit from International Scrapbook Garden. I don't have my new kit yet, so this layout was created from the previous Summer Concert kit. This kit is the masculine kit. It is filled with wonderful grungy papers from 7 Dots and 13 Arts. Plus tons of chipboard.

So here is my first layout:

IMG_4026

I used lots of the chipboard and layered it all over, I left it natural. I loved the frame with the "You Rock" on it. It was perfect for this photo of my nephew. Those washi tape chippies are amazing. I could use tons more  of those.

I layered a few pieces of paper and tags behind the photo. I also added some Tim Holtz film strip tape to match the paper. The flowers are from my stash, some old petaloo. I added some chicken wire stamping and called it done.

Here are some close ups:

I am so excited to be working with this kit. It really pushes my creativity. I love making layouts with lots of flowers and girly colors, so working with a masculine kit will be fun.

Don't forget to stop by the International Scrapbook Blog on Saturday, the new kits will be revealed. You will love them.

That's all I have for today. Thanks for stopping by.

Here is the case file:

And--have you heard?--we've got a brand-new twist on our challenge! We're calling it Freestyle, and it's tailor-made for everyone. Like the old, traditional way we've had our challenges? We've still got the traditional clues, which you can find at the bottom. Want to try something new? Freestyle the challenge by interpreting the Case File Scene any way you'd like. Or, combine the traditional with the Freestyle and pick and choose the clues you want. No minimum requirements because CSI is all about inspiration and telling your stories YOUR way.

Remember to scroll all the way down to the bottom of this reveal post for RGB codes, color descriptions, and more detailed explanations of the Evidence and Testimony prompts.

I used the color scheme and threw in some of the evidence. Here is the evidence I used:
Distressed solid background paper
Woodgrain
Polka Dots
Stars

Now for some close ups:
IMG_4022

I used Authentique "Strong" Collection for this layout.

Crop 1

I used a mix of Prima and Petaloo flowers for this. That clock is a Prima resin piece. I hoard my resin pieces, as I love them so.

Crop 2

I have so much chipboard, I try to use at least 1 piece on every layout. These pieces are by Creative embellishments.
The swirls were simply painted. The star frame was first painted with clear gesso then misted with 2 different colors to get the greenish black color.

We trust we've left enough clues for you to solve the case!

The deadline for completing this Case File is Wednesday, January 31, at 11:59 p.m. EST. Be sure to link your layout using the link tool in the sidebar on the CSI blog, and mention the Evidence and Testimony clues you used. Also, please title your link with your name and country. Swirlydoos May *Spring Grunge* Kit Full Reveal

Hey everyone, I'm back with my full reveal of projects created with the Swirlydoos May *Spring Grunge* monthly kit. This kit is so jammed packed with the gorgeous papers from Prima and Blue Fern Studios. You have to get one, if you don't already subscribe. Here is a look at this gorgeous kit and add-ons again;

May kit full 2017

My first layout is based on the monthly sketch challenge.

Here is the sketch again:

May sketch 2017

Here is my take on the sketch. This kit is full of beautiful papers with wonderful textures and my favorite colors of pinks and corals. This is an older photo of me taken on a fall photo shoot.

The kits and add-ons are jam-packed, so I used very few things from my stash. A piece of metal, a stamp and the resin mushroom. I kept the layout very simple to show off the texture in the paper and my stamping.

May 2017 sketch

Next up is another layout. This one was created for the "All that Flutters" challenge. It's a challenge to create a layout/project using anything that has wings i.e butterflies, dragonflies, bees, angels you get the picture.

I started with the Blue Fern Studios paper and chipboard dangle from the kit.  Then I grabbed some extra chipboard, lace, cheesecloth, glitter glass and the small coral flowers from my stash. I really love how this one turned out.

May 2017 ATF

Next up is another layout.. I created this using a photo I found on the internet (don't know who to credit the photo).

I had so much fun creating this.I did some masking, stamping and misting on the background. I add lots of art stones and glitter glass to this once I was done.  A few of the  flowers for this came from my stash.

  May 2017 reveal

Next up is my tag for the Project Add on. I kept it pretty and simple. I primed the tag with some white gesso, once dry, I used the molding paste from the mixed media kit. For my color, I used distress crayons we got in a past project/tech kit. I used a water brush to blend the colors. The swirl was made using a prima mould and ice resin we got in another past project/tech kit.

I added a few small flowers and the butterfly, topped it with some black splatters (black gesso and water) and title chippy. DONE!

May 2017 project
