Forever with International Scrapbook Garden

Hey everyone, I'm back today to share another layout created using this months Toolshed kit: Winter Adventures from The International Scrapbook Garden. This kit is filled with the Denim and Friends paper line from Maja Designs. It's great for masculine or winter pages, but again I decide to make a feminine layout with it.

Here is my layout:

Forever

This kit is filled with a lot of fun embellishments. The mixed media kit compliments everything so well. I used items from the main kit as well as the bonus embellishment. I pulled in a few things from my stash to make it a bit more girly.

Here are some close up:

Forever crop 1

I used a stencil and some modeling paste both from my stash for the background. Then a bit of stamping with the brown ink from the main kit. I've been into paper tearing a lot lately. To soften it up a bit I added the lace around it.

There are fun chipboard pieces in the main kit as well as the chipboard bonus kit. The chipboard heart is a perfect for girly layouts. To color I used some blue embossing powder from my stash. I added the swirl chipboard piece from my stash to draw your eye to the photo. I embossed it with white embossing powder.

The flowers are from the bonus embellishment kit. I dug out some paper clay pieces I made with Prima molds from my stash to tuck into the flower clusters.

Showing more of the fun chipboard, the title is from the main kit. These little words and hearts are so adorable.

The flowers are from the bonus embellishment kit. I dug that cute little butterfly from my stash. It's so old, but it came in handy.

Showing more of the fun chipboard. This is that title frame from the main kit. I just cut the words out. Then I used the aged teal and marine embossing powder on it. The little swirl chipboard pieces are from  my stash. It's actually 1 piece that I cut into several little pieces. That's a great way to get the most out of your embellishments

Friends

Today I have a layout I did with some friends during a  5 day scrappy getaway in Michigan. We had a great time scrapping, laughing, drinking wine and staying up way too late.

The photo in this layout was taken by my friends 7 y/o daughter. I was visiting them for the weekend and we went out for a photo shoot at this great old covered bridge.

I love creating just for me. That's what I did with this layout. No challenges or contest. Just me, the photo, my kit from Swirlydoos and the rest of my supplies.

I really love the colors on this layout. I used some Stampendous shabby embossing enamel on the chipboard piece. I am loving that stuff.

Thanks for stopping by.

Friends are family you pick yourself

Here is a layout I did for the sketch challenge over at Swirlydoos. You don't have to be a kit subscriber to play along.

This layout is full of mixed media. I used 4 different maks with embossing paste. 3 different mist, stamping, distress stains and inks and lastly some heat embossing. I got really messy with it and had lots of fun. The photo is of my friend Andie's daughter. I went to visit her last month and we had a fun photo shoot.

Weekend recap and a Twisted Sketch

Twisted Sketch 94 is up. Here is my take on the sketch. This was my mom's favorite photo of herself. Ok so I scrapped this same picture a month ago, I used it in a sepia color the last time. This time I used the color version. Who said you could only scrap the same picture once? Head on over and check out the rest of the Twisted Sisters.

Sketch 94

I used the March Swirlydoos kit with this layout. It is filled with the new Prima papers, head on over and check it out.

Now for my weekend update. Kisha came to town and we were able to get together for lunch. We had a great time and great food at Pappadeaux. It was like we were old friends even our spouses were like long lost friends. When I tell you we talked and laughed and ate and talked and laughed. Here are a few pictures from our time together.

Check out Kisha's blog for more pictures and all the food we ate.
