Creative Embellishments December Challenge

Hey guys it's the first of the month, so you know what that means. It's time for a new challenge at  Creative Embellishments. They have a challenge each month. Creative Embellishment sells great chipboard pieces, along with stamps stencils and wood veneer pieces. If you haven't checked out their online store, you are really missing out. They have great shipping times and excellent customer service.

Onto the challenge... As usual please be inspired by a least 1 element from the picture and the twist is to add something that dangles to your project.

Here is the inspiration piece:

Dec Challenge photo

On to my layout I created for the December challenge:

For December, I had to use a Christmas photo. This was taken last year with my nieces right before we left for a girls day. We went for lunch and then to see The Nutcracker.

I used a couple of different chippie pieces on this layout. I just love the flourishes and could use them on all my layouts. For this layout I chose flourish set 15.  I heat embossed them with a light pink embossing powder, then used some ice stickles for sparkle. They are really shimmery in real life.

For my piece that dangles, I used the heart dangle 3. It got the same treatment as the flourishes. Once it was dry I added a few small pink pearls to it. I love the way the chipboard turned out.

Here are some close ups:

That's all I have for today. Thanks for stopping by. Don't forget to you have all month to join in on the challenge over at Creative Embellishments.

Advent Calandar

I meant to share this before the holidays. I got this Advent Calendar kit from Swirlydoos in 2012 and never put it together. Well for 2013, I was determine to have it ready before Christmas. I accomplished that goal. It took me a few days to get it all done, but it was so worth it.

The kit came with the calendar, the papers, and all the embellishments. However you had to do all the painting, spackling, cutting, gluing, inking embossing and decorating yourself. It was fun, but very messy.

Here is the final product.

Since my husband isn't big on candy, I filled each little box with notes for him each day. This year he has to fill the boxes for me.

Here are a few close ups.

I love the hanging reindeer and all the texture on this.

Thanks for stopping by.

Back with more layouts to share

I haven't been around here for a while, but I have been creating up a storm. I'm just going to post a few of the layouts I have created today.

This was created for the Christmas sketch challenge at Swirlydoos.. You should stop by the forums there. The challenges are open to everyone. There is a sketch challenge, a card challenge, a monthly member hosted challenge, plus lots of fun. Anyway, back to the layout. I used the December kit for this layout, however I created it on a canvas.

I also took the photo used. I was playing around taking pictures at the Christmas tree and this is what I came up with. Even though you can't see my face, it is reflected in the ornament on the tree. I like how you see me reaching out touching the ornament.

There is losts of misting and masking on this. As well as some Viva Croco and Ferro. I love those Petaloo poinsetta flowers.

Thanks for stopping by. Come back later in the week for more.
