265 copy

And--have you heard?--we've got a brand-new twist on our challenge! We're calling it Freestyle, and it's tailor-made for everyone. Like the old, traditional way we've had our challenges? We've still got the traditional clues, which you can find at the bottom. Want to try something new? Freestyle the challenge by interpreting the Case File Scene any way you'd like. Or, combine the traditional with the Freestyle and pick and choose the clues you want. No minimum requirements because CSI is all about inspiration and telling your stories YOUR way.
Remember to scroll all the way down to the bottom of this reveal post for RGB codes, color descriptions, and more detailed explanations of the Evidence and Testimony prompts.
Here is my layout:
CSI 265
Here is how I solved the case:
I used the color scheme and some of the evidence. I went with flowers, glitter, stripes, frames, label and something transparent. Gosh, I didn't realize I did so many.
I used Prima Rossi Belle to create my layout. I used a photo of me on my birthday this year. It was the inspiration for the "LIVE" title.  I really loved working with this color scheme, these are my favorite colors.
We trust we've left enough clues for you to solve the case!
The deadline for completing this Case File is November 30th, at 11:59 p.m. EST. Be sure to link your layout using the link tool in the sidebar on the CSI blog, and mention the Evidence and Testimony clues you used. Also, please title your link with your name and country. Bliss at 52 with International Scrapbook Garden

Hey everyone, today I'm sharing another layout I created it using the April Toolshed kit:Colorburst from The International Scrapbook Garden. This kit is filled with papers from 7 Dots and 49 &Market.

Here is my layout:

Bliss at 52

Even though this is supposed to be a masculine kit, you can do feminine layouts with it as well. I went with a recent photo taken of me while on vacation this past March.

This kit is has lots of different embellishments to use.  I used items from the main kit,the mediums kit, the bonus paper kit and the embellishment kit. I pulled in a few things from my stash to add as well.

Here are some close up:

The flowers in this kit are wonderful. They come with these leaves and berries and wire swirlys. I die cut a doily and cut it up to layer all over my layout. I love the metal saying that's tucked into the floral cluster.  l also layered some die cut pieces under my photo.  The background paper and die cuts from 49 & Market. The cheesecloth and butterfly are from my stash

There are a couple of great stencils to create tons of texture included in the kit. I used the stencil and some modeling to create the background texture. Then I used the mediums kit to create the color.  Once it done, I had an amazing textured background.

Here you can see more of my layers behind my photo. I also used another on of the metal pieces. I added some pearls to it from my stash. You can also see another piece from the amazing flowers that are in the kit. There is also another piece of the doily and cheese cloth.

Here are the kits I used for this layout:

That's all I have for today, thanks for stopping by.

Smiles with Prima Lavender Collection

Hey everyone, thank for stopping by. I have had some more time to scrap for myself, so I pulled out some of my newest goodies and went to work. I was lucky enough to get all of the new Prima lines with embellishments in January at ArtVenture.

I happened to have the perfect picture to go with the Lavender line. So off to creating I went, here is what I came up with.

These papers are so pretty, how could anything you create with them not be pretty. I am pretty happy with the outcome.

Here are some close ups:

Aren't those flowers amazing. I used about 2 packages on this I may just have to get some more. The chipboard was painted with white crackle paste (that seems to be my go to lately), then painted with 2 colors of purple mist. There are some art stones and micro beads buried in there too.

The clock got the same treatment as the chipboard leaves. I went a step further and randomly rubbed on some rose gold wax to match the rose gold foil on the paper. You c see more of those amazing flowers, art stones and micro beads.

The keyhole was made with resin and a mold. It got 2 coats of gesso, the just rubbed with rose gold wax. You can see some of the stencil I used on the background.

More flowers and chipboard leaves. I got that cute butterfly from an Etsy store. Matched perfectly to my layout. I also randomly added the bling from this line. If you look closely you can see a white one right under the photo. They are so cute, the have foil on them.

That's all I have for today. Thanks for stopping by.

Hey guys, I just want to share a couple of layouts I did for fun. I had some free time in my happy place and I pulled out some of my recent favorites and just played around. I was so much fun to just grab stuff that I have been hoarding and just use it.

This first layout I made using lots of Prima. I just love the Zella Teal line and I had the perfect picture for it.

Almost everything on this page is from The Zella Teal line. I used some Prima white crackle paste and Lindy's mist (Shabby Turbine Teal and Tibetan Poppy Teal) for the background. The chipboard is Blue Fern Studios. I embossed it with Lindy's Cafe Au Lait.

My next layout was created with Blue Fern Studios products. I used the Tranquility paper line, it's one of my favorites from them.

Here is my layout:

I love the brown/teal color combo. I went a little chipboard crazy on this one. I think in total I used 7 pieces, all from Blue Fern Studios. I have a huge chipboard addiction, so it felt good to just get a bunch on a page, lol. I treated the chipboard with several different embossing powders.

I used my favorite stencil in the background with some Prima gold crackle paste. I also dug into my lace stash and stuck some here and there.

The flowers are from Petaloo. I really miss their flowers. There is also an old Prima branch in there that I cut up.

That's all I have today. Thanks for letting me share my work with you today. Stop back by tomorrow as I have more to share.

Peace and Love.

Swirlydoos January *Delicate* Kit reveal

Hey everyone, I'm back with my full reveal of projects created with the Swirlydoos January *Delicate* monthly kit. This kit is so jammed packed with the gorgeous Lemoncraft papers. You have to get one, if you don't already subscribe. Here is a look at this gorgeous kit and add-ons again;

We have a new sketch designer, ME!! I have been having so much fun trying my hand at sketch designing. There is still a bit of a learning curve, but it is fun. Hope you like the new sketch designs, they are made to go more with the kit and it's contents.

Here is the sketch again:

January sketch

Here is my take on the sketch. This kit is full of beautiful fun floral papers. The colors are so different for me. The colors of the papers go so well with my photo. This is another selfie that I snuck in the ladies room of tan event I was at, it had great lighting.

The kits and add-ons are jam-packed, so I used very few things from my stash. A few stamps, the masks and a doily. Lots of layering and some distressing to complete my page.

January sketch layout

Next up is another layout. I used an older picture taken at Swirly Camp.

I did some paper tearing here.  The die cut framis from my stash. The chip board wheel the add-on  and the main kit. There isn't much masking, misting or stamping in the background, this is more of a clean and simple layout for me. This layout is for the All That Flutters Challenge on the forums, hence the butterfly.

January layout 1

Next up is another layout.. I created this using a photo I found on the internet (don't know who to credit the photo to).

I had so much fun (and got really messy) creating this.I did a lot of masking, stamping and misting on the background. I add lots of glitter glass and glitter to this once I was done.  the flowers for this came from my stash.

January 2017 reveal 2

How about another layout. I just couldn't stop with this kit. This is another mixed media madness layout. It is full of glass beads, glitter glass, art stones, misting, masking and lots of stamping and layers. I used a few die cuts from my stash to add just a bit extra to this layout.

"Selfie" with Creative Embellishments

I'm back today with my first August project for Creative Embellishments.  I am having so much fun just creating. The chipboard from CE has made it really easy. It's actually hard to to put it all on one page, oh maybe that's just me LOL.

This layout is all about me. Well, I know I'm not the only one out there that has a bunch of "selfies" on their phone. I decided to print a few and do a layout. It provided me the perfect opportunity to use some more of the title words. I am just loving them. I'm not really a title person on my layouts, but these titles quotes and sayings chipboard pieces are helping me get over it.

So here is my layout:

CE July 2

I just loved this color combo. I used selfie title, flourish set 18, feathers and flourish set 26. For the flourish at the left, I used a sponged and dabbed on some gesso for a textured look before I painted it. Then I just highlighted it with some stickles (man, I had to dig those things out). The feather, The bottom flourish and the title all got the same treatment, just some metallic acrylic paint and highlighted with stickles. The pieces have a lot of shimmer in person.

Here are some close ups of the pieces.

Thanks for stopping by the blog. See you next month with some more Creative Embellishments projects to share.

Prima November Build a Page and Product Pick

Just a quick post to share my layout for the Prima Product Pick and Build a Page for November. I only have one project, but it fits both categories.

To create my layout, I used some papers from the Swirlydoos October Kit. This kit included the Epiphany line (papers, flowers and embellishments) from Prima. What a great line it was to work with. I then dug deep into my flower stash and added a bunch of different prima flowers to my layout.

The photo is an older one of me taken at my first retreat with the swirly girls. We were in the mountains in Colorado. This picture went so well with the colors of the PPP.

I love the BAP sketch, so why not incorporate them both?

If you haven't tried the glass beads from Prima, you don't know what you are missing. They are so much fun to use and come in so many fun colors.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.

For the past 7 or 8 yrs, dh and I have been doing the Lupus walk. I was diagnosed with Lupus right after we got married. Since then we have had a few friends and family members diagnosed with Lupus as well. So in support of everyone, we do the walk.

This year they changed the location of the walk. It was still along the lakefront, just further north. On the route there where several pretty places to stop and take pictures. So that's what we did. That's where the pic in this layout comes from. It's really not the best pic, but I love it.

This is another layout I created while visiting Andie for our scrappy weekend.

I used another kit from Swirlydoos. This was the October kit, filled with Bo Bunny, the Avenues paper and embellishments. The flowers  and resin piece are from Prima and complement this kit so well. The metals mask and bling are from my stash. Again I used the aged gold embossing enamel on my butterfly. Did I mention how much I loved this stuff. I really need to get some more.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just for fun

I recently went to visit my friend Andie, and we spent the weekend happily scrapping away. I managed to get quite a few layouts done. I shocked myself in how much I got done. I did this layout just for fun. I used some new 7 Dots paper that I got.

The photo is of my from the photoshoot we did at Swirly Camp earlier this year. The retreat was held at this old Victorian house and we dressed up in old clothes and took lots of photos. It was so much fun.

Lately, i've been into mixing up my style. Trying out new things. this layout was no exception. This is a very grungy layout for me. I used lost of misting and inking. Along with stamping and masking. I threw in some chipboard and metal for another element of texture. The paper is 7 Dots, 9th wave, the rest of the stuff came from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by.
