Hey guys, I just want to share a couple of layouts I did for fun. I had some free time in my happy place and I pulled out some of my recent favorites and just played around. I was so much fun to just grab stuff that I have been hoarding and just use it.

This first layout I made using lots of Prima. I just love the Zella Teal line and I had the perfect picture for it.

Almost everything on this page is from The Zella Teal line. I used some Prima white crackle paste and Lindy's mist (Shabby Turbine Teal and Tibetan Poppy Teal) for the background. The chipboard is Blue Fern Studios. I embossed it with Lindy's Cafe Au Lait.

My next layout was created with Blue Fern Studios products. I used the Tranquility paper line, it's one of my favorites from them.

Here is my layout:

I love the brown/teal color combo. I went a little chipboard crazy on this one. I think in total I used 7 pieces, all from Blue Fern Studios. I have a huge chipboard addiction, so it felt good to just get a bunch on a page, lol. I treated the chipboard with several different embossing powders.

I used my favorite stencil in the background with some Prima gold crackle paste. I also dug into my lace stash and stuck some here and there.

The flowers are from Petaloo. I really miss their flowers. There is also an old Prima branch in there that I cut up.

That's all I have today. Thanks for letting me share my work with you today. Stop back by tomorrow as I have more to share.

Peace and Love.

Scrap Yourself

My first design team post is up for Scrap Yourself. This weeks theme is little me. Like my fellow DT members, I don't have very many pictures of my little me. This past April my dh and I took a trip to NY to visit family. My Aunt had several photo albums that I just had to go through. I found this jewel of a photo of myself. It is my 2nd grade school picture. No one at home even has this picture. It was in pristine condition as well. This is the second time I have scrapped this photo since April, guess I'll have to retire it soon.

If you ever wanted to do a layout to include a letter/advice to your younger self, this is the perfect challenge to use. That's what I did. the title of my layout is be Kind and here it is.

SY 1

The envelope tucked under the picture contains the letter. The letter reads;

To my younger self,
that saying about all you really need to know you learned in kindergarten is true. The most important thing you learned then was to be kind to people, you never what they may be going through. Later in life you will understand just how important that is, as you will find yourself going through some trials.

Fortunately, you will come out on the upside of the trials. During your journey, you will encounter many people, some were kind and some were unkind. Those that were unkind could have affected your outcome in a very negative way, had you let them. You were lucky, you have a strong support system and developed a healthy self-esteem. You chose to to focus on those that were kind during your struggles.

Remember the way that those who were unkind to you made you feel? Do you want to be responsible for making someone else feel that way? I know your older self doesn't, so always remember, be Kind.

I used the August kit from Swirlydoos to complete my layout. I hope this inspires you to pull out the little me pictures and do some scrapping. If you decide to play along, leave me a link to your layout, there may be a little something in it for you.

Good News

Two days in a row and 3 times in one week, this has got to be a record for me. It my last post I said I had good news, well today is the day for me to tell it. I have been selected to be on the design team for a great challenge blog called Scrap Yourself.

Scrap Yourself

The new DT is being introduced all week. Today is my day, stop on by and say hello. The new challenges start next week. The topic will be posted on Sunday and the DT will post layouts all week with their interpretation. You should play along.

Remember, we need to get from behind the camera. One day you will be looking through all you wonderful scrapbooks and notice something missing, YOU! What do you want your family to remember about you? Put it in a layout.

Or what about all those time you have talked about doing a book of me, but just didn't know where to start or what to include. Join us at Scrap Yourself for the weekly topics, they are sure to get you started on that book of me.

Well that's it for my good news. Oh, sorry if the blog is looking a bit wonky, I'm working on redesigning it and it is slow going. I'll be back with some new layouts that i'm working on.
