We have some absolutely beautiful scrapbook projects for you to see today !!

My first layout is based on the sketch. We have another multi-photo sketch. Here is the sketch.

August 2015 Sketch

Here is my take on the sketch. I turned it into a single photo layout.

August sketck layout

Most of the items I used on the page came from the main kit. For the chipboard heart, I inked it with smokey charcoal distress ink. They I used the shimmerz inklingz from the mediums kit to give it a bit of color and shimmer. I used the smokey charcoal on the edges of all my papers too.

The ribbon, black pearls, mask and doilies are from my personal stash.

August layout 2

For this layout, I used some white corrugated paper we got in a previous kit. If you don't have any, you can always use part of the box that your kit comes in. Save those boxes, they have many uses.

I did some masking and misting using the mediums kit. Plus I added a bit of random stamping. I have lots of layers built up under my photo. I cut the chipboard tag from the main kit, in half to use as 2 separate layers. My corner cherub was misted with both the coloringz and vibez from the mediums kit

In my floral cluster, I used the die of the month to cut the leafy vines. That die, oh it is to die for. LOL!! For the chipboad title, I used the black diamond stickles and the shimmerz inklingz again. I randomly put the stickles on the chipboard, not covering it all. Once dry, I brushed on the inklingz then wiped some of it off with a baby wipe.

August layout 3

For my last layout. I went with more layers and more mixed media. Once again, I used lots of layers under my photo. I did some more masking and misting behind and below the photo as well. More random stamping too.

I gave my chipboard (from my stash) the same treatment as above, but used a different color inklingz. We got some gray in a earlier kit and it matched so well that I used it here. The gorgeous butterfly in the corner came from my fellow DT member Angelica's Etsy store.

I altered the mason jars from the project tech kit. Here is the shabby chic one I did a video on.

White jar

Here is my video from on the mason jar.

Swirlydoos March Mediums Tutorial with Kim

Today I'm sharing a tutorial using the mediums from the March *Garden Romance* Kit. In the kit we received the Shimmerz Mono Tonez and a The Crafters Workshop stencil. The stencil is a mix of grungy impressions and the Mono Tonez are a greyish/silver color.

In the Mono Tonez you get 2 mist, 1 Vibez and 1 Spritz. The Spritz is more of a translucent shimmer spray. The Vibez is a deeper color with a lot more shimmer and shine. You also get 2 pots, 1 inklingz and 1 of the new creameez. These are shimmering watercolors and are activated by water. The creameez are more muted in color, while the inklingz have super shimmer to them. These 4 products compliment each other really well and are fun to layer.

I have created a video to show you how to you can use these products to alter some chipboard and flowers. Then I used the mask, mist and altered pieces on a layout. Here is the completed layout.

Here is a close up. Look at those flowers and the chipboard.

Here is my take on it.

IMG_8438

I used the mistable canvas sheet for the background. I used a couple different shimmerz on it. Then I stamped around the edges. Afterwards, I layered ripped sheets of paper and ephemera behind my picture. The chipboard piece was heat embossed with aged gold embossing powder.

This month is my turn to do the anatomy of a layout. make sure you stop by the forum to see my step by step on creating this layout. I only used the contents from the main kit. This is a great way to show just how jampacked the main kit is. You don't NEED a lotof extras, but they are nice to have.

Here is my layout.

IMG_8462

I chose this paper as a way to build on the design that is already there.

Lastly is another layout. I used elements from the main kit, plus the add on. I went a little heavier on the mixed media on this layout.

My first layout is based on the monthly sketch challenge. Remember that you don't have to be a subscriber to play along with the monthly sketch challenge. Here is the gorgeous sketch.

August 2014 Sketch

I kept this layout pretty clean and simple. The photo is of my husband and I out to dinner for his birthday earlier this year.

I did some making in the background using Panpastels. I also used them to do some shading around the edges of the paper. I think I have found a new love in them. Be on the lookout for more uses with the Panpastels.

IMG_2841

Here is a close up of the chipboad piece. I colored it with, yep you guessed it, Panpastels then added some crackle on top.

IMG_2843

Next up is another layout. I used a photo of my good friend Andie and myself. I went to visit her last year and we had a little photoshoot. This photo was actually taken by her 8 y/o daughter. I think it turned out great.

There is tons of texture on this layout. I did a bit of masking in the background. I cut pieces of the chipboard that cam in the embellishment add on and then just rubbed it slightly with some brown ink. It has a worn look to it in real life. I used some burlap and joint tape to give it even more texture. Then I added some metal and flowers to soften it up a bit. I distressed the edges and used some more Panpastels around the edges.

IMG_2835

Here is a close up of some of the texture and chipboard.

IMG_2838

My final layoutfor today includes another photo from my visit with Andie. the colors in this kit matched my photo perfectly. I used more cut up pieces of chipboard from the embellishment kit. I used the Shimmerz inklings to color it, and popped up a few of the inside pieces. That cute doily behind the photo is from my stash.

Here is a close up of the bottle cap and the saying that's inside it.

Altered clothes pin

Just sharing a few more project that I have completed over the past few weeks. This is an altered clothes pin. I have had it forever. I actually have anothe one. I decided to take a break from doing layouts and do an altered project, I have so many.

I turned the clothes pin upside down and altered it. My plan is to use it to display cards, or ATC. I really like how it turned out. I used an older Prima line to alter it and just some flowers, chipboard and bling from my stash. I threw in some shimmerz and crackle for fun.

IMG_6370

IMG_6376

I had a lot of fun creating this and it didn't take a long time. It was a nice break from creating a layout.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sister Friends

I back to share another layout done for a challenge at Swirlydoos. There are at least 5 challenges going on every month. This one was done for the March round robin. Its a challenge played in teams where the first person does a layout and the next person list the first persons layout.

For march I went first. This challenge always has a couple of twist to it as well. For March the twist were to use any type of die cut and use a technique from the Swirlydoos Education team. I used several types of die cuts for my layout.

1394499237_131_FT232700_march_14_rr_

I used a 2 cheery lynn dies for the large and small swirls. I used the Tim Holtz sizzix ornate frame die layered under the photos. The title piece is a Dusty Attic laser die cut piece. The fence is by darice, It came in the kit. This layout was created using Swirlydoos January kit. I used a bit of shimmerz dazzlers for the mixed media. The 2 precious darlings in the pictures are my nieces. They are a year apart and they are the best of friends. They are sister friends.

Thanks for stopping by. Don't forget to check out the great kits over at Swirlydoos.
